Meet Samuel Mensah, a 67-year-old farmer from Oyoko, Ghana. Samuel has lived the past 4 years of his life completely blind. He has 10 sons and 16 grandchildren; however, due to his blindness, Samuel could not provide for himself or his family. In fact, he has never even seen 6 of his grandchildren! His wife and children take turns caring for Samuel as most daily tasks are impossible without sight.

When asked “what are you most excited to see following your procedure?” Samuel responded “my children and grandchildren”. Samuel’s procedure went extremely well and he now sees clearly with both eyes.

Samuel rarely speaks now without smiling and loves to tell others how beautiful his daughters-in-law are (now that he can see them)!
