Gretel is a storyteller at heart and enjoys finding meaning in the ordinary. She and her husband move their four children to a new country every few years and travel to dozens more. Originally from the red hills of St. George, Utah, Gretel has lived in Djibouti, Australia, Nepal, India, currently Germany, and soon Saudi Arabia. She holds a Masters of Educational Technology from Boise State University and a B.A. in Communications from Brigham Young University.
In Washington, D.C. she was presented with the Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad for her technology outreach efforts with disadvantaged Nepali students and received a literacy grant to help her work with girls in Mumbai. She has published articles on a variety of topics and is working on her first book. Gretel is honored to be part of the Daybreak team, and she wishes every day could begin in a courtyard full of patients who are about to experience their own daybreak moment during patch removal.
